YES, and always will be!
What do you use to sweeten your baked goods?
We use raw organic sugar, evaporated cane juice and coconut sugar throughout the bakery. We also use bananas, agave and maple syrup. We also use vegan powdered sugar in our frosting.
Do you have any ‘cane sugar free’ treats?
Yes we do! We offer our Skinny Cookies, sweetened with roasted bananas and a pinch of coconut sugar. Our Skinny Cupcake is also a great sugar free option, which is available on Thursdays at the Shoppe.
Are you peanut-free AND nut-free?
Yes, we are 100% Peanut-Free Facility and none of our ingredients contain peanuts. We also are a 100% Nut-Free FACILITY with a disclaimer that all of our gluten free flours are processed on equipment that also processes hazelnuts, almonds, and soy. We use Bob’s Red Mill flours and they “power wash their machinery and discard the initial 30 pounds of flour between runs to do their best to eliminate contamination”.
We advise you to consume at your own discretion.

What kind of flours do you use?
We use garbanzo, fava bean and sorghum flour as our main flour of choice from Bob’s Red Mill.
What does your Red Velvet cupcake taste like?
We pride ourselves on only using the best quality ingredients and nothing artificial. That being said, we use organic beet juice to colour and partially sweeten our Red Velvet cupcake. The colour of the cake is a subtle red, and has a deliciously unique flavour, that’s wholesome and natural tasting. It’s Erinn’s favourite too!
Do you use any artificial food colouring?
Nope. Never. We use only the best natural colours and we bring them in from California. We know and understand fully the dangers of artificial colours. Artificial food colouring causes brain damage. Artificial colours hurt children and their neurological growth causing irritably and hyperactivity and loss of brain cells. Period.
Do oats have wheat in them?
Oats themselves are completely gluten free and wheat free. However, in the processing of some oats, they may come into contact with wheat. We make sure our oats are free of wheat and bring our oats, from Bob’s Red Mill. They are 100% Wheat Free and Gluten Free. You can breathe a sigh of relief!
Are you grain-free?
No, the majority of our baked goods contain grain. We use grains such as oats, sorghum and rice.
Are you soy free?
We have lots of soy-free options in the bakery. However, we are not 100% soy free as our Ice Cream and Sprinkles contain soy. Just ask one of our knowledgeable team members and they’ll lead you in the right direction!
How many calories are in your cupcakes, brownies, cakes and cookies?
Our baked goods are very nutritionally dense as we use the finest whole bean flours, organic sugars and natural vegetable and fruit purees. Thus, the calorie count if quite similar to that of conventional baked goods. However, the quality of the ingredients is far superior. Click here for our nutritional guide.
Are your products healthy?
Yes they are! We use very protein and fibre rich ingredients that you can feel good about eating and giving to your loved ones. Some of our favourite ingredients we use are garbanzo and fava bean flour (rich in fibre and protein), sweet potato puree (high in beta-carotene), coconut milk (great for your digestive system), apple sauce (natural sweetener) and organic coconut sugar (rich in trace minerals).
Can I order baked goods via email?
We don’t take orders via email. Please give us a call at (905) 333-1400 and press #3 to place your order so we can get all of your personal information and make sure your order is taken care of perfectly!
Do you deliver?
YES!! From Grimsby all the way to Oshawa/Bowmanville and as far north as Newmarket and Stouffville, Kelly’s Bake Shoppe delivers! Call us to place your order and we will deliver it to you for a $20 Flat Rate delivery charge no matter what and no matter where in our approved delivery area! (We now deliver to Kitchener and Waterloo and Guelph area too for a $25 flat rate).
Do you do Weddings and Special Events?
Can I order a custom cake?
We don’t offer custom cakes at the shoppe, however, we bake 6″ cakes regularly and they are available for pick-up in our grab n’ go freezer section. The cakes are available in chocolate and vanilla and serve approximately 8 – 10 people. We also have Smash Cakes in our grab n’ go freezer for those 1st birthday parties.
Do you make everything from scratch?
Absolutely everything is made from scratch! We lovingly make all our baked goods by hand throughout the day to ensure freshness.

They all vary and we want to ensure you are given accurate information. Please give us a call (905) 333-1400 for the most current pricing and we will be happy to share.
How do I care for my baked goods?
Best not to refrigerate. Keep at room temperature for the day of eating or freeze for a later date.
Are you open on Holidays?
We are! We know you love to visit us on holidays in Downtown Burlington. We are open every holiday except for Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
What are your business hours?
We are open every day – Open Monday 9am to 5pm, Tuesday to Saturday 9am to 9pm, Sunday 10am to 9pm
Do you have gift cards? How do I buy them?
You can purchase them in our store or ONLINE HERE. We offer gift cards in any denomination. You’re welcome to come into the bake shoppe to purchase one or if you’re wanting to send a secret present to someone and have it arrive in their inbox, order one online! Calling from far away? You can easily order gift cards online!
Do you have parking?
We have a parking lot right beside us and we mean two feet away, and we also have another big lot right behind us, and they’re huge! We also have street parking right in front of us all along Brant Street!

Who founded Kelly’s Bake Shoppe?
The founders and owners of Kelly’s Bake Shoppe are Kelly Childs and Erinn Weatherbie, Mother Daughter duo. Kelly’s Bake Shoppe is such a big part of their lives, and they’re so excited to grow the Bake Shoppe to make it a household name.
How long have you been in business?
Kelly’s Bake Shoppe opened in December 2012 at 401 Brant St. The recipes were created in our original business, Kindfood.
